Electrical Panel And Surge Protection
The North Kent Mutual will waive the deductible for lightning losses and power fluctuation losses (if coverage has been purchased) for Residential, Farm and Commercial Policies provided the insured meets the conditions as indicated below at the time of occurrence:
- The insured has had installed by a licensed electrician a panel protection system, designed to protect the system from a lightning strike, and power fluctuation loss
- The insured must have obtained an electrical permit and final inspection for the panel protection system and have the documentation available at the time of loss together with the warranty certificate and installation information booklet
- The units installed must be CSA Approved / UL or ULC Listed
- Where the insured has telephones, cable tv, satellite, computers, modems or other such devices they must have in conjunction with the panel protection system, a functioning surge protector power bar designed to include phone/modem protection and cable/coax protection

Intrusion Alarm Systems And Farm Outbuildings
The North Kent Mutual will waive the deductible for theft of insured equipment including tools from insured farm outbuildings inlcuding damages to the building caused by theft or attempted theft provided that the insured building containing the insured equipment meets the conditions as indicated below at the time of any occurence:
- There is a centrally monitored intrusion system in place that protects all building openings and includes an external horn or siren.
- The building is posted as being equipped with a monitored intrusion system
- The building is locked at the time of occurrence
- The intrusion system is armed at the time of occurrence
- There are visible signs of forced entry to the insured building
- The proper authorities have been notified of the occurrence
